Winter Dusk is the second studio album by [crazycube32], released on December 22nd, 2025 on Six-Side Records. It was recorded between October 2024 and November 2025 in his living room.
[crazycube32] takes his electronic styles and textures and transforms them into their most expressive, human form. Despite being instrumental, the project channels his raw emotions into somber melodies, downtempo beats, and moody electronic music.
Written on an old laptop during a battle with 10th-grade depression, Winter Dusk stands as [crazycube32]'s saddest release, and to this date the only album of his being explicitly driven by a narrative.
Winter Dusk uses a lot of UI sounds from systems [crazycube32] used during his simpler days, like the Nintendo 3DS and operating systems like Windows 7 to deliver a melancholic reinterpretation of the traditionally optimistic Frutiger Aero aesthetic.
Newfangled Nature is the first long-form track on Winter Dusk after the album's opener, Cosmic Snowfall. A thoughtful sine-wave melody is played throughout the track, then programmed breakbeats come in.
Glowing Ice Cubes (recorded May 2025) is a luminous, chill-out electronic track that balances warmth and frost. Soft, cascading sawtooth melodies intertwine with crystalline mallet accents over a steady, hypnotic beat.
Serving as the eighth track and emotional climax of Winter Dusk, Nuclear Winter is a masterclass in shifting atmospheres. A poignant, lingering melody anchors the track, drifting over the soft electric bass. What begins as a laid-back, lo-fi hip-hop rhythm gradually fractures, beautifully unraveling into intricate, skittering glitch textures.
Positioned as the thirteenth track on Winter Dusk, "Unknown Venture inherits much of its sonic architecture from the previous album, Komprise. The track is a fast-paced drum and bass journey defined by propelling rhythms and somber, stark melodies.
Purple Stratus, the fifteenth track on Winter Dusk, forms the first pillar of the album's closing trio. The song pairs a bittersweet, hopeful melody with deep atmospheric pads, anchored by vibrant electronic drums and classic CR-78 textures. Elevating the track's cinematic scale, it concludes with the historic voice of Jack King delivering his iconic Apollo 11 liftoff announcement.
