Komprise-B is the companion album of [crazycube32]'s debut studio album, Komprise, released on November 30th, 2025 on his label Six-Side Records.
This companion piece to Komprise contains most tracks and outtakes from its respective sessions that weren't included in the main album.
Komprise-B is a B-side compilation that blends warm and expressive synths with cold and clinical beats, but also utilize other instruments like strings and the electric bass.
Tracks on Komprise utilize melodic pads and classic drum sounds from the Roland TR-808 and LinnDrum, as well as sounds reminiscent of early 90s ambient techno albums like Autechre's Incunabula.
Even Colder Winds starts off with fast-paced electronic drums that are programmed. There is also a repeated melody of cold yet deeply emotional synths washing up the track, where machines feel so human. Recorded February 2025, this was one of the later tracks from the Komprise sessions.
Rooftop Currents is surprisingly cheerful despite its producer being literally the opposite. It features a simple sine-wave lead paired with album-appropriate beats, as well as a laidback electric bass line. It's an earlier track, recorded in March 2024 shortly before its more pensive equivalent, Platinum Impulse.
Recorded September 2024, Up Quark kicks off the "Quark" series of tracks. It has a groovy topper along with four-on-the-floor TR-808 kicks, and a minimal tune accompanied by TR-808 rimshots, a glockenspiel-like electric piano, and a very structured composition. It's an ode to 90's tech-house music.
Envisioning Space starts with a speedy and evolving electronic beat. An emotional ballad of strings slowly come in, and the track itself feels like it's giving in, and a off-kilter tuned synth plays with its parameters being changed as the track goes on and the beat calms down. This is the youngest of the Komprise tracks, recorded August 2025, meant for In Brackets.
Input/Output initially has a laidback and straightforward rhythm with crisp drums, hi-hats, and a mild yet transient 808 bass, while subtle ambient undertones slowly envelop, but quickly sets up a faster beat, tambourines, and a repetitive sampled sound taken from the 3DS, to that of a marimba. Recorded May 2024.
